Author Bio

Binh Nhu Ngo is emeritus Director of the Vietnamese Language Program at Harvard University where he taught Vietnamese from 1992 through 2022. He was born and educated in Hanoi and earned his Ph.D. in linguistics from the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. He has also taught at the Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institute and at several universities and colleges in the United States. He served as the Vice President of the Council of Teachers of Southeast Asian Languages and Co-President of the Group of Universities for the Advancement of Vietnamese in America, representing Harvard at these organizations. He regularly delivers lectures in Vietnam. His other books include Elementary Vietnamese and Continuing Vietnamese.
